KVHC’s Giving Tree 2018

KVHC’s Giving Tree 2018

Several local families had a brighter Christmas thanks to the generosity of Katahdin Valley Health Center employees. Katahdin Valley Health Center hosted its fifth annual “Giving Tree” event this year to provide Christmas gifts to local families. To make a difference in their communities this holiday season, KVHC employees partnered with local schools to determine what local children in need would like for Christmas. A Christmas tree was put up at each clinic and decorated with cards listing each child’s Christmas wish. The employees came together and through generous donations and internal fundraising activities raised enough money to provide 137 children with gifts in the surrounding communities. This initiative was directed by KVHC Practice Manager Megan Day and Eligibility Team staff Hannah Anderson, Tina McNinch, Mary Michaud, and Robyn Crossman. Hannah says of the Giving Tree, “This was my first year being a part of the KVHC’s Giving Tree Initiative and it was a great experience seeing KVHC and its employees working for the community to help brighten children’s Christmases. I am so grateful for our generous employees for making this a great Giving Tree. What a year! I am proud to have been a part of this program and excited for the opportunity to work with this program in future years.”
