Dr. Gary Steinberg, a pioneer public health dentist, is a truly selfless individual who has dedicated his life’s work to helping and teaching others. Dr. Steinberg began providing care for people in the underserved rural communities in 1977. Dr. Steinberg was instrumental in helping KVHC to establish it’s first dental clinic in 2005. He has been seeing practicing with us ever since. He is revered by his patients who frequently describe him as comfortable and compassionate.

Joan Haines, FNP
Open Access

Joan has been with KVHC’s Open Access Clinic since its inception in January 2009. Joan is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. As a medical practitioner, Joan has the added advantage of many years as a Registered Nurse. Her insight, compassion, and patient focused approach have established her as a Provider of choice to the people of the Houlton Region.

Tod Twichell, DDS

Dr. Twichell has practiced Dentistry for over 25 years in private practice in New York. He has also provided dental services at a local Community Health Center in New York. He found that providing services to people in a community with high dental needs was enjoyable and rewarding. The Twichells enjoy hiking, kayaking, music and involvement in many community activities. Dr.Twichell has spent many years in his local Kiwanis Club and plays guitar in a community big band.

David Pellin, PA-C
Family & General Medicine

David Pellin is a board certified P.A. who received his medical training from the University of Washington’s School of Medicine and practices family and general medicine. He completed his doctoral course work in health sciences with a specialty in public and global health and has a special interest in preventative medicine and epidemiology. Before attending medical school, David worked for twelve years as a paramedic in the steel towns of Ohio and the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Prior to coming to KVHC, David worked as a General Practitioner for the Indian Health Service on the Spokane Reservation in Wellpinit, Washington where he also served as the clinic’s director. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and outdoor activities with his wife and 8 year-old son, fly fishing, reading and writing fiction, cooking, and is an avid chess player. Mr. Pellin is working out of the Patten clinic.

Robert Lemoine, FNP

Robert was born in Norwidge, Connecticut. He completed his bachelor’s degree in nursing at Central Connecticut State University, and his master’s in nursing at Southern Connecticut State University. Before coming to KVHC, Robert worked at Indian Health Services. He has been living in Fort Fairfield with his wife and seven children for five years.Robert says, “KVHC offers me the opportunity to provide care in a family centered environment.” He is looking forward to the opportunity to take care of people from all walks of life, and getting to know their surroundings and families.

Having grown up in a military family, Tori has lived all around the world from Florida to Germany to Arkansas. Tori began her career in Health Care at a Community Health Center in Tennessee. She worked in various aspects of health care throughout Kentucky and Tennessee and completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Harding University in Searcy AR. Tori comes to KVHC most recently from the Arkansas Primary Care Clinic in Little Rock, Arkansas.She has a passion for community health care, saying that she feels it really makes a difference to the people in the surrounding area and makes healthcare more obtainable. Tori says “I am excited to be part of a clinical team that cares about the community they are a part of. ”

Tenielle Holste, PA-C

Tenielle, born in South Dakota and raised in North Dakota, went to college in Lincoln, Nebraska, and underwent clinical training in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Tennessee. Before coming to KVHC, she and her husband lived in South Boston, Virginia, where she worked at Southern Virginia Orthopedics. They will be moving to Maine, and living in Millinocket.Tenielle is an avid outdoorswoman, enjoying many outdoor hobbies such as cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, swimming, biking, and kayaking. She also enjoys hobbies such as knitting, cooking, scrapbooking, painting, and photography. She relishes the chance to move to the North and work with “people that are real.”

Robert LaMorgese, MD

Dr. LaMorgese was born and raised in Orange, New Jersey. He completed his clinical training at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, and at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey. He also attended a program at Colombia Presbytarian Hospital in New York, NY. Before coming to KVHC, Dr. LaMorgese worked for many years in a private practice in Passiac, New Jersey. He and his wife, Marilu, will be relocating from New City, NY.Dr. LaMorgese has a passion for helping people and preventing disease. It’s what interests him the most about community health care, and what drove him to become a physician in the first place. In his spare time, he enjoys racing RC boats and other electronic pursuits.
