If you answered no, our patient assistance program may be able to help you receive free or low cost prescriptions. Our Patient Assistance Specialist will identify the most appropriate source of prescription assistance and coordinate enrollment on behalf of both the physician and patient. There is no charge for the services, the patient assistants will get the program applications for the medications needed and help you fill it out, obtain the necessary signatures required from you and your physician. You will need to provide the patient assistants with the required proof of income. (Income guidelines vary from company to company) They will get the script from your physician and send the completed forms to the appropriate agency/manufacturer for you.
In 2009 KVHC patient assistance specialist helped 98 patients in our Millinocket, Patten, Houlton and Island Falls clinic receive 628 prescription drugs for a total savings for the patients of $230,480.17. In 2009 KVHC dispensed 6,785 samples to our patients in need. So many uninsured and elderly citizens in the United States desperately need our resource.
